Chicago

Michigan Avenue was a real jungle. We were among the very few cars that were not taxi's as we wove our way through downtown. We found a parking lot near Grant Park and came up from the underground very close to Millennium Park. We toured a few minutes, taking pictures; but soon a city park ranger on a SegWay rolled up and threw us out o the park. Can you find us in the big dome mirror?

Carm's

Well we got lost trying to find Little Italy. Somewhere around Taylor St. I tried to turn aroung and ended up in a back neighborhood street. Guess what? I found Carm's. THE place in Chicago. Everyone from the Univeristy Library and campus goes there for a sandwich. As soon as I walked in and was still with 20 or so folks in front of me, I was immediately recognized as "Tex" and the banter began. George Bush and I are old friends you know, so I got a chance to defend his politics. Grandpa said only 4 words while I was there, but they were "I like the Bush." Two days in a row for an Itallian beef, a meatball sub to go, and the next day for a polish. Too good!
